We have been working hard to prepare for the 2012 King of the Hammers UTV Race. Headed to Prairie City SVRA for another great day of testing our Muzzys 999cc Kawasaki Teryx. Busted out the 31×11.50×15 Pit Bull Growlers to see how it would do. These big light truck tires are mounted on 15″ OMF Performance billet center beadlock wheels. We have used these tires on the Rubicon over the summer with our 2011 Kawasaki Teryx and loved how they worked in the rocks. The Dalton clutch setup does pretty well, but I may want to fine tune a little.

I was a little concerned how they would do in the fast running, but was pleasantly suprised how well they did. Plus they just eay up the rocks. Still trying to figure out what tires are best for this race since it not only covers a few named Johnson Valley trails, but also 60+ miles of desert.  No matter what tire you choose, there are compromises being made.

We will be working with FOX Racing Shox in the next few weeks to fine tune our Position Sensitive Shocks so they can handle the heavy tires and wide range of terrain we will see at King of the Hammers.

Really impressed with the torque of the Muzzys 999cc v-twin.  The Teryx puts down enough power to spill all four wheels in 4-wheel-drive.  Still have lots of testing and wrenching to do, we are thrilled with the progress so far.
