Muzzys Powered 999cc Kawasaki Teryx Carves Up Glamis Dunes
I headed to Glamis on the day after Christmas with my Monster Energy Kawasaki Teryx. The 2011 VORRA season ended on Halloween and we upgraded the engine to a Muzzys 999cc. This was our first trip and was used as a shakedown for King of the Hammers UTV Race which is coming up here on February 10, 2011.
I slapped on a set of smoothies and STU 26″ Blasters from Fullerton Sand Sports that were mounted on OMF billet center beadlock wheels. Let me tell you, this combo is THE setup for any big bore or turbo UTV. I really liked the size and performance of this setup on my 999cc Teryx.
To acheive 999cc, Muzzys adds their 916cc billet cylinders and a stroker crank. But to get all the performance out of this big bore, it needs ported heads, big valves and billet throttle bodies. The result is the dunes was incredible. I flet more like I was in a small sand car than a UTV.
We have a few more things to work on before the race in February, but be sure to mark your calendars for February 10 and try to make it out to Johnson Valley for King of the Hammers UTV Race.
